Heartland Food Group: Creating Benchmarks to Improve Selection
Heartland Food Group had a big problem. With their recent explosive growth and acquisition of Splenda from Johnson & Johnson in 2015, they needed to add 160 employees over the next 4 years to meet the demands of their new product offerings. Heartland wanted to better understand the strengths, weaknesses, and work-styles of the talent they were seeing prior to candidates' first onsite interviews.
Heartland Food Products Group is a global leader in the production of liquid beverage enhancers as well as zero calorie sweetener products for the retail market. They own some of the biggest names in the market such as Splenda, Skinnygirl, Enfuse, Ideal No Calorie Sweetener, and Go Splash. The company is headquartered in Carmel, Indiana with production facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana and the Netherlands.
After explosive expansion and acquisition of Splenda, Heartland needed a data based approach to more effectively evaluate and identify potential new hires.
